From garbage to garden: we collect frozen food waste from local residents outside library locations around New Orleans every week. We partner with Schmelly's Dirt Farm and other urban farms to create nutrient-rich compost used to grow healthy food.

Library closed Thursday, too: No Alvar collection 1/18
The library system will also be closed tomorrow (Thursday) due to the weather, which means no food waste collection at Alvar Library this week. Apologies.
